Torres del Paine to Puerto Natales, Chile

Our 5th and final day was supposed to be a long one. 9 hours is what it said on the map to get up to the Glacier Grey viewpoint and back. Since our catamaran left at 6:30pm we didn’t have too much time to mess around. The hike up was through a large valley that we would follow along a few lakes before getting to the glacier.  The winds for this leg were crazy!  They definitely weren't lying when they put a "strong winds" label on the guide map.  Because it was so windy, we had to break out all our layers.  I was trying to put my glove on and it flew out of my hand and into a puddle of water. I was not happy.

As we got closer to the glacier, we started to see floating icebergs in the lake and part of the glacier in the distance.  Once we made it to the refugio up there the viewpoint to see the glacier was only 15 mins more. We chose not to explore too much further because we knew we would be going to see Perito Moreno glacier in El Calafate in two days. We were way ahead of schedule and got back to Paine Grande around 3pm.

We did it. We finished the W!  Our legs were dead and all we wanted to do was sit and relax. The trek was tough but rewarding with all its views and sights. Pictures do not do justice for this region but we took some photos anyways.

We took the boat (~30 mins) to a bus (~3 hours) back to Puerto Natales.  Unfortunately Jenny started feeling a little sick on the bus, but ended up being okay when we got back to Puerto Natales.  We have an early bus tomorrow to El Calafate, so our time in Puerto Natales was very short.
