Santiago, Chile
Friday was another trip planning day but this time we had Gabriella with us during the day. After we made our own breakfast, we spent the day outside sitting on the patio enjoying the beautiful weather. Gabriella made us some delicious noodles with a homemade red sauce and a nice salad to go with it. We kept trip planning and enjoyed some ice cream for dessert before Oscar came by the house and grabbed us for dinner. He said he would be at the house around 8:30pm, but he wasn't there at 8:30 and we were starving, so we made a quick sandwich to tide us over.
Oscar and Cecilia showed up around 10pm and we went to a traditional Chilean restaurant. Jenny got a local beer and I got a mojito. Since we weren't terribly hungry, we just tried bits of Oscar and Cecilia's food. They ordered a fish soup and a rolled pork dish. We said when we first went out that we didn't want to be out late like last night...that plan ended up failing. After dinner we met up with Alex and Cata (a different one) at a sushi place to get drinks. Alex has traveled the world so it was great to speak to someone (in English!) about his travels. He gave us some great tips for Southeast Asia and had some good insight into where to spend our time. We only stayed for one drink and then we called an uber home. Oscar was still hungry as we were leaving, so he got a hot dog for the road. It looked super good, but I was not hungry in the slightest.
